This Privacy Policy describes how Native Seed Co (“we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses and discloses your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from www.nativeseedco.org (the “Site”). We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.
When you visit the Site, we collect certain information about your device, your interaction with the Site, and the information necessary to process your purchases.
Device information: We collect your web browser version, IP address, time zone, cookie information, which products you view and how you interact with the Site. This is collected automatically using cookies, log files, tags and pixels (including the Meta Pixel) so the Site loads correctly for you and so we can analyse how it is used and improve our operations.
Order information: When you make or attempt to make a purchase, we collect your name, shipping address, email address, payment information (processed securely by Stripe) and, where your card requires it, a billing address. This is collected directly from you to fulfil your order, process your payment, arrange shipping and send you order confirmations.
Newsletter and reviews: If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. If you leave a product review, we collect the name and comments you submit, which are published on the Site.
We use the order information we collect to fulfil orders placed through the Site. We also use it to:
We only send our newsletter to people who have subscribed, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run the Site and fulfil your orders.
Payment processing: We use Stripe to power our secure checkout. We never see or store your full card details. You can read how Stripe handles your personal information at stripe.com/privacy.
Advertising and analytics: We use the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API to understand how customers use the Site and to show relevant advertising. When you place an order, details such as your email address, phone number, name and address are shared with Meta in hashed form (scrambled one way, so Meta can match them to an existing account but cannot read them).
Email and hosting: Order confirmations are sent through our email provider, Resend, and the Site is hosted by Vercel.
Legal compliance: We may also share your personal information to comply with applicable Australian laws and regulations, to respond to a lawful request for information, or to otherwise protect our rights.
Overseas disclosure: Stripe, Meta, Resend and Vercel may store or process your information outside Australia, including in the United States. We use these providers because they maintain recognised security and privacy standards.
As described above, we use your personal information to show you advertisements or marketing we believe may interest you. This includes sharing details of your use of the Site, your purchases and your interaction with our ads on other websites with our advertising partners.
You can opt out of targeted advertising from Meta in your Facebook ad settings. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the Site will still work, although some features may not.
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to ask that it be corrected, updated or deleted. To exercise this right, contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days.
We keep order records for as long as we are required to by law (Australian tax law requires business records to be kept for five years). Other personal information is kept until you ask us to delete it or it is no longer needed. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
