Everything you need to know about ordering, shipping, and growing with Native Seed Co.
We ship Australia-wide via Australia Post. Some seed varieties have state-level biosecurity restrictions — these are clearly marked on each product page and checked at checkout.
Orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days from Broadwater, WA. Standard delivery typically takes 3–7 business days depending on your location. Remote areas may take a little longer.
Shipping starts at $3.99 AUD for 1–4 seed packets. Orders over $100 AUD ship free. Bundles count as multiple packets for shipping calculation.
If your seed packets arrive damaged or compromised, email us at hello@nativeseedco.org with your order number and a photo. We'll replace the affected packets or issue a full refund.
Many of our varieties are straightforward to grow — particularly hardy natives like Gold Dust Wattle, Dwarf Strawflowers, and Billy Buttons. Each packet includes growing guidance specific to that species.
Most Australian native seeds do best sown in autumn or early spring, when temperatures are mild and rainfall is more reliable. Specific timing varies by species and region — check the growing notes included with each packet.
Some native species benefit from scarification or smoke treatment to improve germination. Where applicable, this is noted on the packet along with simple instructions.
Our seeds are sourced from growers who follow organic practices. They are not treated with synthetic chemicals or coatings.
We source through a partnership with Australia's longest-standing native seed specialists — a lineage of botanical expertise stretching back to the 1930s, now holding the most comprehensive and diverse collection of Australian native seed in the country. Seed is wild-collected and grown across dedicated seed production areas across Australia, then cleaned, processed, and tested before any of it reaches our Broadwater workshop to be hand-packed.
Every seed lot is tested for germination in laboratory-grade cabinets before it's approved for sale. This is the same quality assurance used by restoration ecologists and government revegetation programs — not a home-garden shortcut. We only pack seed we're confident will grow.
Many Australian natives — banksias, hakeas, and many understorey plants — evolved to germinate after bushfire. These species are treated in purpose-built smoke tunnels to replicate the cues they'd find in the wild, giving you the best possible germination results at home.
Yes. Collection and production practices are designed to preserve genetic integrity and protect the long-term health of native populations. The work is aligned with the Florabank Guidelines — Australia's national best-practice framework for native seed use and restoration.
Because a packet of seed is only as good as the knowledge and care behind it. Nearly a century of botanical expertise, wild provenance, and laboratory-grade testing mean that when your seedlings come up, they're as close to the plant you'd find growing naturally as possible — true to species, genetically healthy, and ready to thrive.
Due to the nature of seeds, we cannot accept returns on opened packets. If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us within 14 days at hello@nativeseedco.org and we will make it right.
Germination depends on many factors including soil, climate, and technique. While we can't guarantee results, we test every batch for viability and include detailed growing instructions to give you the best chance of success.
Our bundles are curated collections designed around specific themes — coastal, woodland, pollinator-friendly. We don't currently offer custom bundles, but you're welcome to build your own selection from individual packets.
Our kraft seed packets are designed to be gift-ready as they are. For bundles, each box is hand-packed and presented beautifully — no additional wrapping needed.
Drop us a line at hello@nativeseedco.org and we'll get back to you.
